David Hartford, First National, 1920, from James Oliver Curwood (who also produced). Betty Blythe and Lon Chaney in the Canadian woods: a wrongly accused man, a mounted-police plot, a forest fire. Silent, about seventy-eight minutes. Hartford shooting snow and timber as the real antagonists. Chaney not yet in a thousand faces, just a trapper the law will not leave alone. Curwood's name is on the advertising because the woods were already a brand.
