Roscoe Arbuckle, dumped from a saloon, takes a job as a bartender in the same town and inherits a bomb threat meant for the man who threw him out. Keystone, 1915, directed by Arbuckle: the tramp-to-respectability gag in reverse. He is already using his bulk as timing, not just as a crash. Mabel Normand is not in this one; the picture is Arbuckle testing how far a two-reeler can go on one premise. The bomb is real enough for Keystone, which is to say it is a prop that keeps almost going off.
