Trädgårdsmästaren
1912 · 31 min · SE
Directed by Victor Sjöström
A gardener's son marries a worker's daughter, and the father throws them off the nursery and then wants the girl for himself. Victor Sjöström plays the gardener in his first film as director, and the fight in the greenhouse, among the plants, is where the realism Swedish cinema became known for begins. The censor banned it outright, and it survived only because a copy had gone abroad. Svenska Bio, 1912, about half an hour.
