1934 · US
Directed by Harlan Thompson
A Paris plastic surgeon makes rich women beautiful and then makes them, marries a patient whose regimen of creams and diets turns the honeymoon into a clinic, and comes back to the secretary who never needed any of it. Cary Grant is the surgeon, learning to be funny, which took him a while, and he sings a song about corned beef and cabbage. A light comedy from the year the Code came in, about a business whose product is dissatisfaction. Genevieve Tobin, Helen Mack. Harlan Thompson for Paramount, 1934.
