The AFI: Goulding replaced Dimitri Buchowetzki, Gilbert replaced Ricardo Cortez, Love replaced the novel's title. Anna cannot leave her husband without losing the child; three years later the husband dies and the lovers reunite, a happier ending than Tolstoy. Eighty-four minutes. New York opening the week of 27 November. William Daniels photographed it. The studio pairing them under a title that would fit a marquee.
