Guests arrive at the Park Avenue apartment and Morris introduces his parents as the servants. That is the scene the film is built for. The Goldfish family has come from a Delancey Street pushcart on the son's ambition, and Morris, Ricardo Cortez, has changed his name to Fish and is ashamed of where he came from; Jean Hersholt is the father, and the old couple go home to the East Side.
