Frank Capra, 1928, Columbia: a gold-digger (Viola Dana) marries a rich man's son (Ralph Graves) and, when he is disinherited, learns to run a box-lunch business. Capra's early feature, already the America he would keep selling: class as a misunderstanding, work as a romance. It is clumsy and clear. The certain thing is the girl who was supposed to be the problem.
