The Tramp, in a bearskin and a bowler, dreams himself into the Stone Age, where Mack Swain is king and the wives are a harem, and there is a club, a cliff, and a park bench to wake up on. The bowler on the caveman is the joke that survives any century. Chaplin's last film for Keystone, December 1914, two reels of a studio at the end of its usefulness to him.
