Pat Smith loves a young Jewish doctor whose family marries him to someone else, and on the rebound she marries Eddie Doyle, who sells gum machines and knows he was second choice. Then she is hurt defending his machines from a protection racket, and the only surgeon who can save her is the doctor. Jack Oakie, usually the loud friend, plays a man in love with a woman who does not love him, and does it quietly. Shirley Grey, and Leon Ames early in his career as the doctor.
