Two peasant children go looking for the Blue Bird with a fairy and the spirits of Light, Fire, Bread, the Dog and the Cat, and come home to a house that looks different because they have been away. Ben Carré's sets are painted flat and lit like a stage, and Tourneur composes every frame as a picture; the Land of Memory is the one to see. From Maeterlinck.
