Directed by Victor Fleming
Victor Fleming, Douglas Fairbanks Pictures / United Artists, 1920. Fairbanks as Richard Marshall, an over-civilized American in Monte Carlo who is mistaken for a diamond smuggler and packed off to Arizona. Wallace Beery as the actual thief. Silent, about eighty-six minutes. Fleming sending Fairbanks from a hotel terrace into a canyon so the body can remember it is an athlete. The title is the insult the plot has to spend.
