Camille

1921 · US

Directed by Ray C. Smallwood

Dumas moved to the Paris of the 1920s, in Natacha Rambova's Art Deco rooms, circular doors and a bed like a shell. Nazimova produced and plays Marguerite as if she owned the rooms, which she did; Valentino is Armand, cast before The Sheik made him a name. The party scene is the one. Ray Smallwood directed for Metro, 1921.
