A banker who ruined a family is punished by a caped avenger with a cellar, a mirror and a pack of dogs. After Les Vampires the censors wanted a hero, and Feuillade gave them one with a cape, René Cresté, and kept Musidora as the villainess. The serial as dream, one more time. Gaumont, 1916 to 1917, twelve episodes, over five hours.
