Directed by Mack Sennett
Mabel, a kitchen maid, is dismissed and becomes a movie star, and her old suitor, seeing her in peril on the screen, pulls a gun on the projector. Mabel Normand, Mack Sennett, and the Keystone lot playing itself in 1913, a decade before Sherlock Jr. tried the same joke. The audience in the picture house is the real subject; they are the people Keystone was counting on. Fourteen minutes.
