Micheaux again, 1920. Eve Mason (Iris Hall) inherits a cabin in the Northwest and is taken for white by her Black neighbor, Hugh Van Allen (Walker Thompson). Land men and a passing hotelier want his oil. They ride as the Knights of the Black Cross. The film survives from a Belgian print with French and Flemish titles; the last reel, the routing of the riders, is still gone. What is left is the night ride: sheets against a black sky.
