Directed by Mabel Normand
Mabel Normand, Keystone, 1914. She is a hotel guest in pajamas; Chaplin is a drunk in the lobby in the baggy suit and derby. The picture was shot before Kid Auto Races at Venice and released two days after it, which is why people argue about the costume's first appearance. The chase through the rooms is the film. She takes the falls as a matter of course.
