1914 · US
Directed by Charlie Chaplin
A dental assistant impersonates the dentist, a patient laughs on the gas, and Chaplin knocks him out with a mallet. Teeth come out with pliers, a bride ends up in the chair, bricks fly in the street. Cruel, fast, and shaped by Chaplin himself for the first time, in 1914: the Tramp before he learned to be liked. One reel.
