Tetsuo graduates, is offered a receptionist's job, turns it down as beneath him, and tells his wife nothing; she takes work in a bar to keep them, he finds her there, and he goes back and takes the job. Eleven minutes survive of a feature that ran about seventy, enough to show the frontal set-ups and the deadpan cutting Ozu would keep, and a sketch for the salaryman films of the next decade.
