Directed by Alfred Hitchcock
Hitchcock's first completed feature, Gainsborough and Emelka, 1925. Two dancers at a London hall: Patsy (Virginia Valli) keeps her head; Jill (Carmelita Geraghty) marries a man who takes her abroad and does not stay useful. Eliot Stannard adapted Oliver Sandys. They shot at Emelka near Munich and on Lake Como. The first minutes stay in the theatre: a track along the chorus, then a spectator with glasses. That is the film deciding where to look.
