A socialite marries her chauffeur, her fiancé marries the laundress's daughter, and both marriages fail on class before anything else. DeMille's thesis is that people should marry inside their tax bracket, staged with bathrooms and a tenement, and what is odd about the film is that it means it. Leatrice Joy, Conrad Nagel.
