Pudovkin, Mezhrabpom, 1927, commissioned with Eisenstein's October for the tenth anniversary. A peasant boy comes to the capital for work, is used on both sides of 1917, and ends at the Winter Palace. Golovnya again; the statues and the bridges do as much as the extras. Gosfilmofond and the anniversary prints are the lineage. Less a biography than a city changing its name around a man who has not yet got one.
