The second film, same Ufa production. After Siegfried's murder, Kriemhild (Margarete Schön) waits, then marries Etzel the Hun to get an army. The Burgundians accept the invitation. Lang and Thea von Harbou stage the last act as a siege of a hall: extras locked into rectangles, fire used as architecture. If Siegfried is a fairy tale, this is the bill.
