When gold is discovered on Sioux land in the Dakotas, three outlaws (Bull Stanley, Spade Allen, and Mike Costigan) save settler Lee Carleton after her father is murdered and appoint themselves her unlikely guardians. As a corrupt sheriff and a wagon-rush for claims close in, the 'bad men' try to secure her a future even as their own last stand approaches.
